End of Season Wrap

Written by: League Administrator
Sunday, April 7, 2013

We managed to get through the season without too many problems, though I realize things do not always work perfectly.  Thanks for all of your efforts to get your kids to the gyms.  Thanks to all of the coaches, asst coaches and scorekeepers who were there to make our program work.  I know the vast majority of our kids had a good experience and it is our hope that the kids continue to play in the offseason and return to play again next year.

In addition to the Sportsmanship winning teams we recognized with my last note, congratulations to the teams who won the championship in their respective divisions this past week:

Boys 4 Travel: Team McMahon (4th Gr SJBL Champs)

Girls 5 Travel:  Team Smith (5th Gr ICBL Champs)

Girls 3:  Team Cashin

Boys 3:  Team Topolski

Girls 4:  Team Halfpenny

Boys 4:  Team Mailhiot

Boys 5:  Team McNamara

Girls 5/6:  Team McDonald

Boys 6:  Team Jackson

Boys 7:  Team Rogers

Girls 7/8:  Team Vizzard, Ficken

Boys 9/10:  Team Milley

Summer Basketball Registration

Registration for our summer program will open on May 20th and run through June 10th.  The summer season begins the last week of June and runs through the 1st week of August.  Teams meet twice each week, but only Monday through Thursday nights.  We do not play on the weekends in the summer as many people travel on the weekends.  Also, we usually will place an additional player on each team as we recognize that many people go on vacation in those weeks so we encourage you to sign your child up, even if you might miss a week or two.  I will send a notice out reminding everyone in mid-May.

Christina Foggie and Vanderbilt Take on UConn (Monday night)

Watch our own, Christina Foggie, who is having a great season at Vanderbilt, on ESPN2 at 7:00 on Monday night.  That is channel 42 or 851 for HD, though the ESPN listings are a little unclear so it might be on ESPNU (channel 730.)

I encourage all of our players to watch the game as seeing Christina play on such a large stage may prove just the inspiration some of our players need.  She started in our program in 5th grade and enjoyed great success at Lenape High School.
