Challenger
Mount Laurel Basketball hosts this program for our athletes with disabilities for Ages K and Up. The season typically runs from December to March. Weeknight sessions are on Tuesdays at Springville Elementary school. Saturday sessions are held at Springville Elementary. The teams generally meet twice a week.
Instructional
For our younger children, Mount Laurel Basketball Instructional leagues are for grades K through 2. Fundamental Hoops will conduct four sessions in this league to introduce new coaches and players to the practice format. When Fundamental Hoops is on court, it’s important that the coaches help as much as possible to ensure that we get the most of our time with them.
Intramural
The intramural registration is our in-town leagues for grades 3 through 12 boys and girls. Typically, teams will practice once or twice a week in the winter and play once a week, all subject to gym availability for the specific grade level league. These are draft leagues, so Friend and Coach requests cannot be honored. Teams are formed based on evaluations and/or previous seasons evaluations.
Travel
Travel is ONLY for grades 4 through 8 and you MUST reside in Mount Laurel. THE LEAGUES WE PARTICIPATE IN REQUIRE PROOF OF RESIDENCY. Mount Laurel participates in the ICBL for the girls’ leagues and the SJBBL for the boys’ league. Both leagues have strict residency policies, so you are only eligible to play for a Mount Laurel team if you live in Mount Laurel. The leagues are for boys and girls in 4th through 8th grade. We typically will field 2 teams per grade for each league. To participate on a travel team, there are additional costs that will be collected once you accept your position on a team. These will be communicated separately during tryouts.
Coaching
Anyone wishing to volunteer to coach a team will be subject to a background check and required to attend our annual coaches meeting. The coaches are the primary person responsible for coaching the kids with a focus on respecting their teammates, opponents, and referees. The coaches are the primary person responsible for maintaining order within the specific gym that they are using at their given time slot. A coach/manager onboard package will be distributed with equipment and/or at commissioners meetings for all coaches.
Leagues/Divisions
This will be the specific leagues that are developed for the given season. In general there will be three specific sections: Intramural; Instructional; Travel
Divisions will be listed in each of these sections. Under divisions will be the specific teams – these are all taken directly from the TeamSnap backend and should be updated automatically. In these divisions, we want to have the team standings as well.
